Our services
Helping governments and businesses ship goods worldwide
We work closely with Military Sealift Command and US Transportation Command to facilitate dry cargo and tanker voyage charters, time charters, and cargo bookings for military cargo worldwide. These shipments include military cargo as breakbulk, container shipments, heavy lift and out of gauge cargoes, as well as petroleum products.
We are experienced in the requirements for sensitive and hazardous cargo including class 1 shipments, helicopters, airplanes and armoured vehicles. Supported by a global network of logistics providers, we ensure door-to-door delivery solutions for customers.
Liaising with clients across bid preparation; negotiation with Government offices, and execution of contracts relating to the loading and delivery of agricultural products and commodities. These contracts involve numerous food aid agencies and relief organisations, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to the World Food Programme.
We’ve handled shipments of 50 million metric tons of bulk and bagged food grain and oilseeds to various locations across the world, including nations experiencing conflict.
To ensure cargo meets its intended destination efficiently, our close relationships with port agents informs key logistics insight such as port congestion, customs, and schedule delays. This is now further strengthened with the broader Clarksons Port Services division, helping to resolve both foreseeable and unanticipated problems that arise in distant ports.
We are extremely active in managing the delivery of large project and containerised shipments for use in large-scale complex construction, energy, and other projects worldwide. Many of these shipments arise from project financing by the US Export Import Bank (EXIM). We therefore work closely with representatives from EXIM on a variety of projects and initiatives.
Examples of our project cargoes include large iron pipes, mining machinery, porta cabins, cranes, vehicles, and various construction and building materials.
These shipments have been transported on both U.S. flag and non-U.S. flag multipurpose vessels to the Middle East, Russia, Africa, and Far East. Together with the wider Clarksons group, we will continue to provide creative and innovative solution across project requirements, securing competitive rates and staying at the forefront of new technologies and regulations.
With a strategic location close to Washington DC, we’ve been able to participate and play a significant role in the development of maritime policies relating to shipments of cargo and the legislation of shipping rules by US Government agencies, including:
- US Maritime Administration
- US Transportation Command
- US Department of Agriculture
We have developed close working relationships with management and senior leadership of these agencies, providing the team with unique expertise in information related to U.S. maritime policy, decision making at various Government agencies, and shipping requirements under this legislation.
We frequently advise policymakers on new legislation to strengthen the US flag shipping industry, enact new initiatives in the industry and report on federal agency compliance with existing maritime programmes.
Euro-America Shipping & Trade, Inc (“EAST”) was acquired by Clarksons in 2025.
